A rare Italian religious painting from the first half of the seventeenth century. An oil on panel depicting the martyrdom of Saint Stephen, difficult to obtain. At the center of the composition we find the first Christian martyr, wearing the traditional red dalmatic of a deacon, as he is being stoned.Around him we see his tormentors intent on hurling large stones.
