Description
Beautiful oil painting on panel from the late seventeenth century. The work is inspired by the models of the Spanish painter Francisco Pacheco del Rio (1564-1644) and was painted on a very thick panel, evidence of the work's antiquity (see photo). It features many characters, skillfully rendered despite the small size of the piece, which was perhaps intended as a preparatory sketch for a larger work.
Eyes and hands are rendered with great skill, as are the clouds and the rest of the objects present.
The size of the painting is 41.2cm x 52.5cm with the frame and 47cm x 36cm without the frame. The frame dates back to the late 19th century or the early 20th century and is in conditions as shown in the photo.
It presents characteristics in the expressions of the figures that are very similar to those of Francesco Pacheco. This Spanish painter also depicted the Immaculate Conception in one of his paintings, which has the same expression and similar features as this one.
The painting does not require restoration; it will be shipped with professional packaging via Mail Boxes etc. It cannot be shipped outside the European Union.
