Catherine II (Catherine the Great) (1729–1796) – Princess of Anhalt-Zerbst, wife of the Grand Duke, later Emperor of Russia Peter III; after the coup she ruled as Empress of All the Russias in the Russian Empire from 1762 to 1796.
