Greek Italy. Northern Lucania, Velia. AR Drachm, c. 465-440 BC. Obv. Head of nymph right, with hair in krobylos and held by band. Rev. ΥΕΛΗ. Owl standing left, wings closed, perched on olive-twig. HN Italy 1265; HGC 1 1328; Williams 108 (O74/R81). AR. 3.9 g. 14.5 mm. RR. Very rare. Cabinet tone; some porosity. About VF.
